Safety Drills this Week at Walsh

Stay in Place Drill => Monday, 10/21 - DAY 5, 12:15 p.m. - B Block

Lockdown Drill => Wednesday, 10/23 - DAY 1, 8:30 a.m. - A Block

Evacuation Drill => Friday, 10/25 - DAY 3, 9:15 a.m. - D Block - During the morning announcements, we will remind students that this is a drill

We will make the following announcements each day.

“We are going to practice our lockdown drill now. All spaces should practice lockdown. Remember this is just practice, there is no emergency”

“We are going to practice our evacuation drill. We are going to pretend there is an emergency in the main office.

This is just pretend. We don’t evacuate the same way as a fire drill, teachers will tell you where to go.”

“We are going to practice our stay in place drill now. That means that everyone is staying in the place they are in. Remember this is just practice, there is no emergency”

Change in Support Staff

Ms. Hogan, our 7th Grade Adjustment Counselor, has resigned for personal reasons. We have already started the search for her replacement. In the meantime, Mrs. Kelley and Mrs. Languzzi will be supporting the 7th-grade students. Mrs. Kelley will work with students whose last names begin with A-K, and Mrs. Languzzi will assist those with last names beginning with L-Z.

organizing and attending special events that promote advocacy and bring

awareness about the disability rights movement. Schools that take part in Best

Buddies (Promoters) will have, by the end of the school year, successfully

introduced the disability rights movement to a new population. Best Buddies

(Promoters) is an essential part of Best Buddies’ future and helps us achieve our

Driving into Walsh

The Walsh driveway can be quite busy in the mornings and afternoons. With over 800 students being dismissed, 15 buses, and many additional pick-ups, we kindly ask that you drive slowly, stay attentive, and watch for students. We will have two staff members at the crosswalks closest to the building to help with bus departures. Please follow their directions to ensure everyone's safety. Thank you for your cooperation.
