Hispanic Heritage Month and Framingham Reads Together with Nic Stone
Posted by Laura Estevez on 9/27/2021
Welcome everyone to a new and exciting school year at Walsh!. There will be a lot of new things happening in the library this year. To begin with, we are these days working on our collection to make it even more multicultural and multilingual, at the same as attractive for our students. Students are eager to read and they keep me, Laura Estevez, your new bilingual Library Media Specialist in the building, really busy. That makes us all extremely happy.
We are currently celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month with the whole Walsh family, and some classes have already come by the library to experience some Media Literacy mini lessons. There will be more to come!!
Walsh students are also getting ready to culminate their participation in Framingham Reads Together, a shared community experience around one book, Dear Martin, that will bring Walsh students with the author herself, Nic Stone, in different zooms meetings on October 5th and 6th. They will discuss their experiences around the author´s books that they have read this summer and with their ELA teachers in class.
