Hello from Ms. Herrmann!!

Hi everyone!

Thank you to all of our faculty and staff for another great week at Walsh! Highlights included an after-school field trip to the beautiful sunflower field at our neighboring farm on Monday, a visit from Rep. Lewis, who spoke with several of our 8th-grade Civics classes, and our PINK DAY celebration in support of breast cancer awareness.

Important information regarding Thursday, October 29th (DAY 1)

 - Picture Re-Take Day = This is for any new students, students who were absent for the September picture day or any student who would like a new picture.

 - Thursday is an Early Release Day. Dismissal is at 11:40 a.m. Lunch will be served.

Early Release Days are a popular time for students to spend time with friends in the community. Please remind your children to demonstrate our CORE values of Respect, Ownership, Acceptance and Responsibility while in the community. We will be reminding the students throughout the week as well. Thank you for your support!

Have a wonderful weekend!

"The beauty of literature is you allow readers to see things through other people's eyes.

All good books do this."

Cell Phones/Smart Watches and Non-School Authorized Electronic Devices

To promote student learning and mental health, and to reduce distractions during the school day, cell phones/smart watches and other non-school authorized electronic devices may not be used at any time during school hours. Limiting device use helps create a more focused learning environment and can improve students’ well-being by reducing social media usage during the school day.

If a parent/guardian chooses to send their child to school with a cell phone/smartwatch or other non-school authorized electronic device, it must be turned off and stored in the student’s backpack or locker.

Any cell phone/smart watch or non-school authorized device seen or used during the school day will be confiscated by staff, and parents/guardians will be notified. The device will be returned to the student at the end of the day.

Repeated violations will result in the device being held in the office until a parent/guardian meets with administration to pick it up.

When it is necessary to get an important message to your child during the school day, please call the main office and leave a message with the school secretary.
