Hello from Ms. Herrmann!!
Hi everyone!
We had a very fun day celebrating the life of Dolly Parton today (9/25....9 to 5). We saw lots of people wearing pink and even some staff members wore cowboy hats, wigs and cowboy boots! The best part of my day was hearing students singing 'Jolene' in the hallways this morning! It was very special.
A second special part of my day was reading more 'Good Deeds' from 6th grade students. Several students wrote that they would like to sit with someone new at lunch and others wrote about helping people who are lonely. It is so wonderful seeing examples of empathy and kindness throughout the Walsh community.
One important reminder is that Session 1 Club Sign-Ups are open. The deadline for Session 1 Club Registration is on Wednesday, 9/30. Members of the Flyers After School Staff will be at Walsh on Tuesday 9/29, during lunches, to help students with club sign-ups.

We Hope to See You at the Framingham Fest!!!
Please join us at the Framingham Fest on Saturday, October 3rd (11-3pm). Walsh Middle School students will be performing songs from our upcoming musical. One highlight of the festival is the Mascot Competition. This is especially fun for little children...one parent's reaction to this competition last year was that "This is better than Disney World!" The Mascot Competition is scheduled to begin at 12:15 p.m.

Student ID Badge Reminder
We appreciate your support in helping us reinforce the importance of students wearing their Student ID Badges. All students are required to wear their Student ID Badges each day while at school. Student ID badges are also required when students receive breakfast and lunch. Thank you for reminding your child to bring their ID badge to school each day. We appreciate your partnership and support!

Information for 8th grade Families => Keefe Tech Information
* The Keefe Tech Presentation is scheduled for Thursday, 10/8. This presentation is for all 8th graders and will take place during the school day. * The Keefe Tech Field Trip is scheduled for Friday, 10/30. This field trip is for all 8th graders and will take place during the school day.

After-School Clubs - Session 1 Registration is Open
Club Registration for Session 1 is Open Now!
- The deadline for students to register for Session 1 clubs will be Wednesday, September 30th.
- Session 1 clubs will begin October 5th and run until December 16th.
We are very excited to be offering many clubs this year. Our after-school clubs include the following:
Monday: Soccer, E-Sports, Gym Games, Robotics, Chinese Fun Club, Yearbook
Tuesday: Basketball, E-Sports, Cosmetology, Robotics, Arts & Crafts
Wednesday: Gardening, Flag Football, Comic Book Club, Volleyball, Robotics
Additional information will be sent to families from the Department of Expanded Learning Time. We are looking forward to a wonderful year of Flyers After School !!!!

Cell Phones/Smart Watches and Non-School Authorized Electronic Devices
To promote student learning and mental health, and to reduce distractions during the school day, cell phones/smart watches and other non-school authorized electronic devices may not be used at any time during school hours. Limiting device use helps create a more focused learning environment and can improve students’ well-being by reducing social media usage during the school day.
If a parent/guardian chooses to send their child to school with a cell phone/smartwatch or other non-school authorized electronic device, it must be turned off and stored in the student’s backpack or locker.
Any cell phone/smart watch or non-school authorized device seen or used during the school day will be confiscated by staff, and parents/guardians will be notified. The device will be returned to the student at the end of the day.
Repeated violations will result in the device being held in the office until a parent/guardian meets with administration to pick it up.
When it is necessary to get an important message to your child during the school day, please call the main office and leave a message with the school secretary.

Walsh Drop off & Pick-up
8th Grade students will enter the building at Door 21 (middle of building)
7th Grade students will enter the building at Door 22 (band and drama hallway)
6th Grade Students will enter the building at Door 17 (at the end of the building)
Any student getting breakfast will enter the building via the main lobby.
Dismissal Process: For the safety and efficiency of dismissal, we have outlined the following procedures:
Walkers and Pick-Up: Students who walk home or are being picked up will be dismissed first. This will help ease congestion and ensure a smooth transition for these students. Bus Riders: Students who have a seat on a bus will be dismissed by bus. Our staff will be on hand to guide students to their designated buses and ensure they board safely.
