Hello from Ms. Herrmann!!
I welcome you and your family to the 2026-2027 school year. I am incredibly excited and honored to serve as the building principal and to lead the Walsh community this year.
I joined the Walsh staff in 2001 as a special educator and then entered the world of school leadership as an Assistant Principal in 2013. Walsh has always held a special place in my heart and I look forward to building connections with the students, families and staff in my new role.
I am proud to share the many wonderful things happening throughout the Walsh community. Please look forward to my weekly communications that will highlight students' accomplishments and learning, celebrate the tremendous dedication of our teachers and faculty, and keep you informed of upcoming events.
I am truly looking forward to working with all of you and making the 2026-2027 school year a wonderful one for the entire Walsh community!

As we settle into the year, you may notice a few small changes during the first two cycles. These adjustments help us ensure that every student is in the classes and sections where they can thrive and have the best possible learning experience. Thank you for your understanding as we work to set all students up for success.

On the first day of school, students will bring home a Parent/Caregiver Emergency Contact Sheet. It is essential that this form is updated and returned promptly. In case of illness or other important matters, we must be able to reach you or an authorized adult without delay.

Cell Phones/Smart Watches and Non-School Authorized Electronic Devices
To promote student learning and mental health, and to reduce distractions during the school day, cell phones/smart watches and other non-school authorized electronic devices may not be used at any time during school hours. Limiting device use helps create a more focused learning environment and can improve students’ well-being by reducing social media usage during the school day.
If a parent/guardian chooses to send their child to school with a cell phone/smartwatch or other non-school authorized electronic device, it must be turned off and stored in the student’s backpack or locker.
Any cell phone/smart watch or non-school authorized device seen or used during the school day will be confiscated by staff, and parents/guardians will be notified. The device will be returned to the student at the end of the day.
Repeated violations will result in the device being held in the office until a parent/guardian meets with administration to pick it up.
When it is necessary to get an important message to your child during the school day, please call the main office and leave a message with the school secretary.

6th Grade Students will go to the auditorium as soon as they arrive or after getting breakfast Teachers and administrators will be on hand to help them find the auditorium.
Any student getting breakfast will enter the building via the main lobby.
Dismissal Process: For the safety and efficiency of dismissal, we have outlined the following procedures:
Walkers and Pick-Up: Students who walk home or are being picked up will be dismissed first. This will help ease congestion and ensure a smooth transition for these students.
Bus Riders: Students who have a seat on a bus will be dismissed by bus. Our staff will be on hand to guide students to their designated buses and ensure they board safely.

Driving into Walsh
For everyone’s safety, please use extra caution when driving through the Walsh driveway during arrival and dismissal. With over 775 students, 15 buses, and many parent pick-ups, traffic is heavy and fast-moving vehicles put students at risk. Drive slowly, stay alert, and watch carefully for students at all times.
Two staff members will be at the crosswalks closest to the building to guide traffic and support bus departures—please follow their instructions. Your patience and cooperation help keep our students safe every day.
