Student End of Year Expectations

Grades 6–8 end-of-year activities at Walsh are essential events designed to celebrate the year. Students in grades 6, 7, and 8 must meet minimum requirements to fully participate in available grade-level end-of-year activities. Students who do not meet these requirements risk losing the privilege of participating.

We will be reviewing them with students over the next couple of weeks.

Attendance - Students must meet minimum attendance requirements:

  • 18 or more unexcused absences during the year may result in the loss of end-of-year activities.

  • Excessive tardies during the year that have not been resolved through the SST/School Discipline process may result in the loss of end-of-year activities.

  • Students must attend and be on time for all classes.

Behavior - Students must maintain reasonable behavior. Infractions may include (but are not limited to):

  • Accumulation of 5 or more office referrals from May through June

  • Accrual of two or more days of suspension from May through June.

  • Committing an act or acts that, in the collective opinion of the administration and middle school staff, warrant disqualification from one or more of the promotion activities.

  • Additionally, teaching staff, with the concurrence of the administration, may disqualify a student from participating in one or more activities when, in their opinion, the student poses a safety issue to themselves or others.

Walsh Pick Up Reminder

Pick-Up Reminder:
As a reminder, we ask for your partnership in helping dismissal and parking lot pick-up run smoothly and safely. Please listen for and follow directions from Walsh staff when addressed, as they are there to support students and families and keep traffic moving efficiently. We also ask that all interactions remain respectful and that everyone stays aware of their surroundings to help ensure a safe environment for all.

The Homework Center at the Framingham Public Library

The Homework Center at the Framingham Public Library provides free homework help and tutoring (and snacks!) for students in grades K-12. The Homework Center is open at the Main Library downtown on Mondays and Thursdays from 3 pm-6 pm, and at the McAuliffe Branch in Nobscot on Wednesdays from 3 pm-5 pm. If you have any questions, please contact FPL Assistant Director Jill Walker - jwalker@minlib.net.

Student Absences

Please be sure to call the main office when your child is absent. This is important so we can accurately record the absence.

🚗 Walsh Pick-Up & Drop-Off Reminder 🚗

Dear Walsh Families,

Our staff’s number one priority is the safety of all children during arrival and dismissal. To help us keep things running smoothly and safely, please remember to:

  • Drive slowly and carefully through the school zone.

  • Follow staff directions at all times.

  • Use designated areas for drop-off and pick-up.

  • Stay in your vehicle during pick-up and drop-off.

  • Be kind and patient with other drivers—we’re all here for the same reason.

  • Avoid distractions, such as cell phone use, while in the car line.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Together, we can make drop-off and pick-up safe and respectful for everyone.

💙 Walsh Staff
