Introducing our new 7th Grade Adjustment Counselor

We are excited to introduce our new 7th Grade Adjustment Counselor, Ms. Shaffer, who is dedicated to supporting our students in navigating both academic and social-emotional growth throughout the school year. With a strong focus on creating an environment where every student feels valued, Ms. Shaffer will be working closely with students, staff, and families to foster well-being and success.

Ms. Shaffer brings with her extensive experience, having previously worked as a counselor in both Lawrence and Chelmsford schools. This background has provided her with valuable insights and a deep understanding of the diverse needs of students, which she will use to support our 7th graders in their personal and academic development.

Cold Weather Clothing

With colder weather upon us, we encourage students to dress warmly for outdoor activities, including waiting for transportation, walking, and recess. If your child needs assistance with winter essentials like gloves, a hat, boots, or a coat, please reach out to the grade-level counselor or an administrator

Team Based Community Meetings

In the coming weeks, we are conducting Community Meetings for all grade levels and teams to review key expectations and foster a positive school environment. Each meeting will cover essential routines, including expectations for behavior on the bus, in hallways, during recess, in the cafeteria, and within classrooms. These discussions are designed to ensure that all students understand and feel confident about their roles in maintaining a respectful and safe school community. For our 8th-grade students, this session will also include important information on preparing for high school, including details on Keefe Tech, high school transitions, and grading expectations.

Driving into Walsh

The Walsh driveway can be quite busy in the mornings and afternoons. With over 800 students being dismissed, 15 buses, and many additional pick-ups, we kindly ask that you drive slowly, stay attentive, and watch for students. We will have two staff members at the crosswalks closest to the building to help with bus departures. Please follow their directions to ensure everyone's safety. Thank you for your cooperation.
